How to download and use Sims 3 CC

How to download (and install) Sims 3 content

So you want to download some Sims 3 Custom Content but have no idea how? I'm gonna show you, dearie. :)

Set up

I could teach you how to get ready to be able to install CC, but I found a great video while scouting around so here's how to set up to use .package files: xUrbanSimsx

First off, locate the page of the thing you want. For the purpose of this tutorial, we'll use one of mine (obv). If you need to know how to search for a specific thing on my tumblr, you can refer to this tutorial.

Now this part will be different for every website but for mine you'd choose which link you'd want to download it from. There's not really much of a difference between them. The only thing is sometimes mediafire doesn't work for someone so they use dropbox. Sometimes dropbox doesn't work for someone so they use 4shared. So on and so forth.

So you choose the link you want to use.

Downloading

For Mediafire you'll get this page.

Verify the file name (left) and then hit the big green download button.

For 4shared:

Verify the file name (top) and then click the download button.

For mega:

Verify the file name (top) and click the download button.

For dropbox:

Verify the file name (top) and hit the download button.

You need only choose one place to download from.

Installing

Whatever place you chose to download from, you should have a file now.

Now, if you have a program installed that is set to deal with zip files, you can just click it here and it'll open a box and you can unzip it from there. If you don't have a program, then click the arrow beside of the file > show in folder. When the download folder opens up, right click the file and click extract.

Some operating systems don't have that option, so if that is the case you will need to download something to extract it with, whether it be alzip or winrar or whatever else.

Now you have your folder like this:

Now the filename, for instance, ZCPeggy888cu.package means the creator (Zombie Chick), it's a Peggyzone hair, hair number 888 as she numbers them and then you have the variations of:
C, P, T, Y, A and E - Child, Toddler, Teen, Young /Adult and Elder.
U means Unisex. So if it doesn't say, for instance PF (toddler female) it might say PU, meaning it can be used by either males or females.

Choose the ones you want and highlight them > right click > copy. Then go into your mods folder > packages > right click > paste. There you go!
