How to find a hair retexture on my tumblr

Sometimes digging through blogs is hard when you're looking for something specific. Not this time!

Open up my tumblr:

Go to the address bar.

At the end of the url type /tagged/haircreator hairname like so

So for this tutorial I wrote /tagged/newsea ultra lover. So now the url says:
pixelatedzombies.tumblr.com/tagged/newsea ultra lover
Hit enter.

After hitting enter, the url will fix itself to be correct, like in the pic above and...

If you can't find it, try a variation. Peggy hairs will be written as Peggyzone (caps not important) and if it has a number like, say you want a hair called Peggy 49 it'll probably be 049. If if doesn't work without a zero at the front, try again with the 0. If you cannot find the hair you're looking for, request it! :)

How to upload sims

I’ve had this question asked quite a few times, so I decided to make a small tutorial on uploading sims for sharing on the internet. There are three ways to share your sims.

  • You can upload the .sims3pack to the exchange
  • You can upload the .sims3pack to a hosting site (media fire/4shared/etc.)
  • You can upload the .sim file to a hosting site

Today I’ll show you all three. You won’t need to download any external programs to do this. [tip: click images to make them large so you can see them)

First thing we need to do is export our sims. There are two methods for this alone.

If you already have the sim made and are already playing it but want to share it, follow step 1.

Step 1: If the sim is already made and in your game

Hit control, shift, and C on your keyboard to open the cheat box. Type in testingcheatsenabled true. Hit enter.

Hold shift, click on the sim of choice and hit “edit sim in create a sim”

Method 1: Exporting a .sim file

In Create-A-Sim, edit all the necessary information, change the clothes, whatever you need to do.

Then it’ll say saving:

Method 2: Exporting .sims3pack

Click this:

Type in whatever you’d like:

Click the check mark:

Let it do it’s thing. Close or minimize TS3.

Step 2: Uploading

Method 1: Uploading your .sim file

Open your documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > SavedSims

At this point I would make a new folder on my desktop and right click > copy the .sim file I wanted to move there, and paste it in the folder.

So then you have this:

Then I would right click > new > text document and type in some info about the sim. Here’s a sample of stuff I’d write:

That’s just me, you can do whatever you like. Sometimes people include the CC in the file. It’s up to you I suppose.

Close the folder > right click > send to > compressed (zip) folder

Wait for it to do its thing and then open your browser. Pick your favorite host, whether it’s mediafire.com, 4shared.com, mega.co.nz, dropbox.com, etc.

Use their upload function. I cannot go through them all because that’s a lot of instructions to write out. You should know how to upload things. On mediafire I believe you click add files.

To upload a .sims3pack this way, do the same thing. They are located in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Exports though!

Method 2: Uploading to the exchange

Super easy.

Open your launcher:

Click uploads, check the thing you want to upload, and then click the bottom upload. Easy right? It’ll upload to your TS3.com account. Make sure to log in! (Upper right corner of the launcher)

Hope this helped, any questions feel free to send me an ask at my tumblr!
